Mercans obtains approval of its’ Binding Corporate Rules, a high standard global data privacy compliance framework

Following the approval by European data protection authorities, Mercans is proud to be the first company in its payroll technology sector to obtain Binding Corporate Rules (BCR). This major milestone reinforces Mercans’ dedication to top-tier data protection and privacy standards, ensuring rigorous compliance for clients’ and employees’ data.

What is BCR?

The BCR serves as a robust data protection mechanism, ensuring that companies maintain a consistent level of data protection across all their entities globally. These BCRs must be approved by the relevant data protection authorities in the EU, which involves a thorough and often lengthy assessment process. The number of companies adopting BCRs continues to grow as organizations seek to ensure compliance with data protection regulations in an increasingly globalized business environment.

Binding Corporate Rules (BCR)

The BCR are data protection policies, procedures and processes adhered to by multinational companies for transfers of personal data from within the EU to their entities located outside the EU.

What This Means for Mercans

BCRs are internal policies that govern how personal data is transferred and protected within our global entities. These rules ensure that any personal data processed by Mercans, no matter where it is located, is treated with the same level of care and security as it would be within the EU. With our BCRs in place, our clients and partners can trust that their data is managed in full compliance with GDPR requirements.

Approval of Mercans BCRs

Following a complex and rigorous process, the recent Mercans BCR approval is a recognition of Mercans’ continuous effort on:

This approval for Processor BCR demonstrates Mercans dedication to upholding strict data privacy practices and ensures compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Only 184 companies worldwide have adopted BCR and Mercans is proud to be the first company in its payroll technology sector to obtain Binding Corporate Rules (BCR).
