Netherlands – Belastingdienst Banking Migration – 1 May 2026

The Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) has announced the migration of its house bank from ING to Rabobank, effective 1 May 2026. As a direct consequence, all bank account numbers (IBANs) used for tax remittances to the Belastingdienst will change on that date. This communication was issued on 4 March 2026 by the Servicedesk Ondersteuning Digitaal Berichtenverkeer (ODB), Belastingdienst/Centrale administratieve processen, Ministerie van Financiën.

Payroll Impact

This change does not affect payroll calculation logic, wage tax rates, or loonheffingen formulas. The impact is strictly limited to the creditor IBAN used when remitting payroll taxes to the Belastingdienst. The following payment types are affected:

• Loonheffingen (wage tax / payroll tax remittances) to the Belastingdienst
• Any other Belastingdienst-directed SEPA credit transfers or batch payment files
• Advance-scheduled payments referencing existing ING IBANs dated on or after 1 May 2026

Required Actions Before 1 May 2026

• Retrieve the new Rabobank IBANs from the official Belastingdienst migration page
• Update all payment templates and bank master data records for the Belastingdienst creditor in the payroll engine
• Update SEPA credit transfer batch files — specifically the beneficiary IBAN field — for all loonheffingen remittances
• Notify any third-party payment providers or outsourced treasury functions of the IBAN change
• Review all advance-scheduled Belastingdienst payments and correct any that reference the old ING IBANs
• Perform a test payment run using the new IBANs prior to the 1 May 2026 go-live date
• Monitor the ODB portal (odb.belastingdienst.nl) for any further updates before the effective date
