Assistant Marketing Manager

The Assistant Marketing Manager at Mercans will support the development and execution of strategic marketing initiatives for a global payroll outsourcing and SaaS company. This role requires expertise in digital marketing, brand management, and campaign execution. The position focuses on implementing high-impact marketing campaigns, driving customer engagement, and supporting the overall brand awareness strategy. The Assistant Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with the sales, product, and digital teams to ensure an integrated marketing approach aligned with Mercans’ global business objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of data-driven digital marketing campaigns tailored to global payroll outsourcing and SaaS solutions.
  • Support the creation and management of thought leadership content, including blog posts, case studies, and newsletters to establish Mercans as an industry leader.
  • Coordinate with global analyst firms to support research and insights that enhance brand credibility and market positioning.
  • Assist in managing internal and external communication strategies to enhance client and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to product marketing efforts, including messaging, go-to-market strategies, and development of marketing collateral.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic marketing decisions.
  • Collaborate with PR agencies to drive media coverage and increase brand visibility.
  • Implement SEO, PPC, and content marketing strategies to improve online presence and lead generation.
  • Assist in budget tracking and ensure optimal ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all customer touchpoints and marketing materials.

Go-To-Market Strategy Support:

  • Assist in defining and implementing go-to-market (GTM) strategies aligned with Mercans’ business goals.
  • Conduct research on target markets, buyer personas, and key value propositions to optimize market penetration.
  • Support the development of positioning and messaging frameworks for payroll outsourcing and SaaS offerings.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution with sales, product, and digital teams for successful product launches.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure GTM success.

Brand Awareness and Recognition:

  • Assist in the execution of brand awareness campaigns to position Mercans as a leading global payroll outsourcing and SaaS provider.
  • Support thought leadership initiatives, including social media engagement and industry participation.
  • Help manage strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and media collaborations to expand brand recognition.
  • Ensure brand messaging is consistent and effectively communicated across various platforms.
  • Leverage customer success stories and testimonials to enhance brand credibility.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO):

  • Support the development and execution of an SEO strategy to improve Mercans’ online visibility.
  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to optimize content performance.
  • Assist in optimizing website structure, meta tags, and on-page elements for better search rankings.
  • Monitor SEO performance metrics and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Industry Analyst Relations and Market Positioning:

  • Assist in maintaining relationships with industry analysts to position Mercans as a technology leader in payroll outsourcing.
  • Support the development and execution of analyst engagement strategies, including research briefings.
  • Help track and analyze industry analyst reports for strategic insights.

Industry Partnerships and Alliances:

  • Support strategic partnerships with HCM and WFM providers to expand Mercans’ market reach.
  • Assist in collaborations with technology partners and service providers to strengthen the payroll ecosystem.
  • Help oversee joint marketing initiatives with key partners.
  • Monitor partnership performance and ensure alignment with business goals.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 6 years of marketing experience, preferably in the global payroll, HR tech, SaaS, or outsourcing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing, digital campaigns, and customer acquisition strategies.
  • Knowledge of SEO, PPC, content marketing, and marketing automation tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience in a global, high-growth SaaS or payroll outsourcing environment.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo) and CRM tools.
  • Familiarity with industry analyst relations and partnerships.
