Ghana – Changes in Minimum Wage Floor – 1st January 2026

National Minimum Wage Increase

The National Tripartite Committee (NTC) has announced a 9% increase in Ghana’s daily minimum wage. This change will take effect on 1 January 2026

All employers are legally obligated to adjust the wages of employees earning at or below this new threshold. Failure to comply is subject to sanctions under Section 113(1)(a) of the Labour Act 2003 (Act 651).

Note: The NTC also proposed that the 2026 minimum wage should be tax-exempt to ensure workers receive the full benefit of the increase.
