UAE scraps visa residency passport stamps from December 12, 2022
Article Navigation
The announcement comes after a declaration earlier this year that residence stickers attached to citizens’ passports will be revoked by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICA) of the UAE.
The country, on the other hand, will issue a new generation of Emirates ID cards to expatriates that include all the details that were previously mentioned on the residency stickers affixed to passports.
The expat’s passport will no longer be required for stamping. Once the residency is approved, the applicant will be able to download a copy of their e-Residence and use their Emirates ID for travel.
