Senior Research Analyst – Compliance Research
The Senior Compliance Regulations Analyst is a senior subject matter expert within the Compliance department, responsible for ensuring the company’s global payroll solutions maintain the highest level of adherence to international tax and statutory regulations. The position involves in-depth research and analysis of the complete payroll compliance framework, including tax law, statutory reporting, and data integrity. This role acts as a critical link between complex global legislation and the software development lifecycle, translating regulatory requirements into precise technical specifications. Furthermore, the position serves as an expert resource for internal stakeholders and external clients, providing clarity on complex compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Research & Analysis:
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the full payroll compliance framework, including statutory reports and integrations, official filings, and required data fields.
- Conduct detailed and ongoing research of global payroll tax legislation using established methodologies to provide clear interpretations for software integration.
- Develop and execute complex tax computations and scenario simulations to validate compliance with tax and social security laws.
- Conduct regular audits to confirm the correct interpretation and application of legislation within the software, ensuring alignment with in-country best practices.
- AI-Powered Research & Innovation:
- Develop and refine AI research templates and prompts to streamline the collection and analysis of regulatory information.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to conduct initial research, summarize complex legal documents, and identify key legislative changes.
- Employ AI to cross-validate research findings against multiple sources, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and reliability.
- Regulatory Research Support:
- Conduct targeted research based on client-specific scenarios or requirements to provide tailored compliance solutions.
- Investigate and research statutory updates to ensure timely and accurate implementation within the payroll system.
- Perform research to identify and rectify any incorrect software configurations or misinterpretations of tax law.
- Documentation & Implementation:
- Translate complex tax regulations into precise, accurate, and timely software configurations and technical specifications.
- Update all necessary documentation, artifacts, and software requirements to accurately reflect the impact of new tax legislation.
- Stakeholder & Client Communication:
- Communicate complex regulatory concepts effectively to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including clients, to ensure a shared understanding of compliance requirements.
- Attend client meetings as a subject matter expert to explain the impact of tax legislation on their payroll operations and our software solutions.
- Team Leadership & Process Improvement:
- Mentor junior colleagues, fostering their professional development and contributing to the team’s overall growth.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and automate research processes, evaluating and implementing AI solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Essential Skills & Expertise
- Global Payroll & Tax Legislation Expertise
- What it is: A deep, functional knowledge of international tax law and payroll operations.
- Quantified Expectation: You must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a payroll compliance role, with demonstrated expertise in managing the complexities of payroll tax regulations across at least 5 major international markets (e.g., G20 countries).
