Product Manager

The Product Manager’s work is to lead the strategic development of Mercans’ cloud-based Payroll and HR software through the product life cycle, ensuring regulatory compliance, user satisfaction, and alignment with organizational needs.

Jobs and Responsibilities:

Manage the product roadmap

  • Update the Roadmap with the planned features, enhancements, and releases.
  • The roadmap is managed and updated on an ongoing basis.

Product definition and requirements

  • Define and prioritize product features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Translate customer needs and market trends into actionable product requirements, user stories, and specifications.
  • Work closely with design and development teams to clarify requirements, provide guidance, and ensure successful implementation of features.
  • Requirements, user stories, and design are correctly and clearly defined and meet the requirements and scope.
  • The documentation is prepared on time and correctly.
  • Availability of documentation to different parties is guaranteed.

Ownership of product features

  • Manage the Product development from ideation to implementation professionally and responsibly.
  • Managed each stage of the development cycle and make sure the necessary parties are involved.
  • Ownership of their vertical product features (Domain).

Contributes to work and task planning for the development team

  • Activities and tasks are registered on time.
  • Activities and tasks are described correctly and comprehensively.
  • Activities and tasks have been communicated to all parties on time.

Manages the defect resolution

  • Process of managing defect resolution and enhancements is performed properly and in a timely and professional manner.
  • Product backlog is up to date and followed on time.

Identify potential risks and challenges in product development

  • Potential risks are being identified on an ongoing basis.
  • Relevant strategies are being implemented to mitigate risks and challenges.
  • Risk management is being documented clearly and promptly.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management.
  • Seek feedback from stakeholders, team members, and customers to identify opportunities for process improvement and product innovation.
  • Actively participate in professional development activities, networking events, and training opportunities to enhance product management skills and knowledge.

Internal and external product training

  • Product training on new feature enhancements or modules.
  • Product training is conducted professionally and in a timely manner.

Performing additional tasks assigned by the direct manager

Additional tasks are completed correctly and on time.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager or similar role, preferably in the payroll or HR technology industry.
  • Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
