Position Overview

We seek an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong contract drafting, review, and evaluation background, with a proven track record of working across multiple entities or group companies. Reporting directly to the [appropriate executive], the Legal Counsel will play a key role in ensuring legal compliance, managing risks, and supporting the business’s overall success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the organization, including but not limited to finance, operations, and human resources.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various matters, including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary, managing relationships and overseeing the quality of work provided.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and promote best practices.
  • Participate in corporate governance activities, including board meetings, shareholder communications, and regulatory filings.
  • Handle dispute resolution and litigation matters, working closely with internal stakeholders and external parties to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends, advising management on potential implications for the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from a reputable institution; Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the United Arab Emirates; additional qualifications in other jurisdictions a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of law experience, focusing on contract drafting and evaluation.
  • Proven experience working with group companies or multiple entities, preferably in IT SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of commercial law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and technology, committed to continuous learning and professional development.
