Chief Privacy Officer
Job Purpose:
- Chief of Privacy Officer role is critical in terms of designing and implementation of a Data Protection and Privacy strategy and policies.
- Internally, the role should assist in the creation of a risk-based, commercial approach to data use, management and security that balances the privacy requirements of customers, whilst simultaneously facilitating technological innovation.
- Strong leader and experienced privacy specialist who can work effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Prioritizing effectively and managing diverse and multiple requirements, while overseeing the work of external counsel as needed
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and agree strategy and key priorities for Group Privacy, in light of future legislation, external developments and key commercial drivers
- Drive the implementation of the new Data Protection and Privacy strategy and policies.
- Develop and lead an external strategy to influence key stakeholders across government, regulatory agencies and industry bodies to shape and influence forthcoming regulatory policy or legislation.
- Oversee the implementation of a single data privacy risk framework to assess and mitigate risk in all areas across the Group including, Data Insight, Strategic Collaborations and Partnerships, Information Risk and Security; Procurement; HR.
- Drive the engagement of key internal stakeholders to ensure that privacy is at the heart of commercial strategy.
- Drive greater awareness of data privacy across group companies through leading design and deployment of training
- Oversight of the delivery of privacy-related policy, processes, practical advice and guidance for front line operations
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in information security/cyber security/ IT/Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 05 years of experience in the Data Protection and Privacy role.
- Significant experience in the field of Data Protection and Privacy with a keen interest in the relationship between privacy and technological developments/innovation
- Experience of leadership with the capability to develop high performing teams.
- Commercially aware specialist, capable of applying regulatory principles and frameworks to complex commercial and operational arrangements.
- Experience of working in a regulated industry and an understanding of wider regulatory pressures would be beneficial
