The opportunity

Are you detail orientated and keep abreast with amending tax legislation and payroll tax compliance?

As a result of continued growth, Mercans wishes to hire a legislatively strong Compliance Regulations Analyst. You will have an interest in developing tax compliant payroll simulations and work together in a likeminded team.

Your key responsibilities

  • Maintaining a strong research methodology to ensure continuous compliance across a global payroll footprint.
  • Ensuring all tax compliance deliverables are high quality, theoretically accurate and delivered on time.
  • Building alliances with regional tax authorities, in-country experts, and tax advisors to ensure adherence to tax administration.
  • Keeping abreast of existing and emerging legislation and defining its appropriate interpretation and application.
  • Translates the impact of tax legislation, communicating this through the updating of various documents and artifacts.
  • Facilitating information sessions to ensure requirements are transferred successfully between the regulations team and the configurations team.
  • Building tax computations and scenario simulations to depict theoretical application of tax and social tax laws, ensuring compliance.
  • Conducting auditing processes to ensure current understanding and interpretation is correct and in line with current legislation and in-country best practices.
  • Collaboration with business streams and stakeholders to ensure feasibility of compliance scope.
  • Communicates with development team and supports during the development life cycle.
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues and continuously striving towards team and business upliftment.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Detail orientated, with a propensity for problem solving and numerical formulation.
  • A functioning knowledge of payroll tax computation is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, keen desire for knowledge, multi-tasking and strong in time management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Ideally you will have at least 5 years of experience working within a payroll administration team, responsible for tax compliance and auditing functions. What we offer
