Compliance Solution Designer

Job Summary

The Compliance Configuration Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the payroll solutions are developed and maintained in line with regulatory tax compliance. This position will be responsible for assisting with tax computation and tax return program delivery, ensuring high-quality technical accuracy, and supporting the development lifecycle to maintain payroll compliance across different jurisdictions. The role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the feasibility of designs, translating regulatory requirements into technical specifications, and assisting in first-line testing before handing over to quality control.

Duties and Responsibilities

Compliance & Tax Computation

  • Assist with the development and delivery of tax computation and tax return programs.
  • Ensure all tax compliance deliverables are technically accurate, of high quality, and delivered on time.
  • Compile release notes that explain regulation changes, system impact, and user actions required.

Collaboration & Design

  • Work closely with business streams and stakeholders to assess the feasibility of compliance design concepts.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into detailed technical specifications that align with the payroll compliance strategy and product vision.
  • Communicate effectively with development teams, providing support throughout the development lifecycle to ensure compliance and quality standards.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct first-line testing of compliance configurations before passing them to the Quality Control team.
  • Work closely with testers to clarify testing requirements and guide them in understanding compliance-related testing tasks.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Anticipate future system requirements and contribute to innovative solution designs that meet evolving compliance needs.
  • Continuously consider user experience and communicate potential improvements to the system and processes.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance configuration process.

ISMS Compliance

  • Ensure that ISMS (Information Security Management System) standards are always adhered to during all phases of the compliance configuration process.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Min 3  years of relevant experience in payroll compliance, configuration, or implementation, preferably in the payroll software industry or a similar technology-focused environment.
  • Strong technical background, with an aptitude for problem-solving and solution design.
  • Knowledge of payroll tax computation is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong multitasking abilities, and effective time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Nice to Have

  • At least 2 years of experience working within an implementation team, responsible for configuration that is both compliant and according to business specifications.
  • A working knowledge of HRBlizz payroll software.

Performance Goals:

  • By the end of Q2 2025, collaborate with at least three cross-functional business streams to validate design feasibility, ensuring 100% of designs meet business requirements before development.
  • By the end of each quarter, ensure 100% of compliance deliverables are submitted on time, with zero errors in accuracy, through regular reviews and collaboration with the compliance team.
  • By the end of each sprint, maintain comprehensive documentation for all configuration processes and compliance requirements, with updates provided bi-weekly and monthly performance reports delivered to management.
  • By the end of the next quarter, ensure 95% of teams report improved collaboration and communication as measured by quarterly feedback surveys.
  • Ensure 100% of updates are translated into technical specifications for payroll compliance and integrated into product strategy by the due dates communicated.
  • By the end of the next quarter, implement a standardized quality assurance process and validate 100% of compliance configurations to ensure adherence to established standards and effective outcomes.
